Last night (Tuesday December 3), I attended a tasting of Balblair vintages. We tasted five whiskies, 2003, 1997, 1990, 1983 and 1969, prefaced by a glass of Balblair’s base spirit.
In addition to the Jim Beam American Stillhouse, Beam also opened its new 57,000 square foot Global Innovation Center on the distillery grounds that is said to features state-of-the-art technical, R&D and design labs that will fuel the company’s product development initiatives.
“We aim to deliver 25% of our company’s annual sales growth from new products, and our new Global Innovation Center will help ensure our innovation capabilities remain second to none,” said Beam president and CEO Matt Shattock.
Beam says the opening of the visitor facility and the Global Innovation Center reflects a $30 million multi-year investment.
The company expects to more than double tourism and attract 200,000 guests annually in Clermont. The opening marks Beam’s one-year anniversary as a standalone publicly traded company
