Treasury signs up Wolf Blass for the Ashes

28 May, 2013

Treasury Wine Estates (TWE) has announced that it has signed up its Wolf Blass brand as partners of Sky Sports broadcast of the next two Ashes cricket series between England and Australia.

The deal, which covers this summer’s series starting on July 10, coupled with this winter’s away Ashes in Australia.

As co-sponsors, Wolf Blass sponsorship idents will be shown throughout each day’s play on Sky Sports, during replays and also catch-up TV. The deal will also see advertising on Sky Sports News, as well as a significant digital presence on www.skysports.com.

TWE’s managing director EMEA, Andrew Carter, said: “Wolf Blass has been a long-time supporter of one of the world’s most iconic sporting contests. This deal provides the perfect platform to showcase one of the Australia’s best quality wine brands, a brand that has great appeal to wine-drinkers who love their wine and love their sport.”

The Wolf Blass brand sponsored TV coverage of England’s Ashes victories in both 2005 and 2009.

Added to the Sky deal, retailer-focused activity connected with the Ashes will run from July until January 2014.
