Glenfiddich Malt Mastermind winner announced

The Glenfiddich Malt Mastermind competition has been been won by David Sinclair of the Gleneagles hotel in Scotland

Although at the heart of the competition there was a cocktail competition, the eight finalists also had to complete a questionnaire testing their knowledge of whisky.  Sinclair's winning cocktail was called "Equilibrium" and comprised:

50ml Glenfiddich 18 Year Old

15ml Grant's morello chery brandy 

3 drops of Aztec chocolate bitters

Garnish: apple wood smoke.

Second came Michael Allan from the Raconteur bar in Edinburgh and third was Andrew Miller from the Elbow bar also Edinburgh.
