Spiritseurope has written to the Luxembourg Ministry for Health and Economic Affairs to caution against prospective plans to raise the legal purchasing age for spirits, but not for beer or wine.

The director general of trade body Spiritseurope has called for an urgent resolution to the outstanding issues in the Brexit negotiations before the European Council Summit this week.

The Scotch Whisky Association will travel to Canada to seek a new trade agreement led by European commissioner for agriculture and rural development, Phil Hogan.
