Guala buys MCG Industries’ Metal Closures for €20 Million

Guala Closures, a leading maker of aluminium closures for spirits and wines, has bought the Metal Closures division of South African company, MCG Industries.

Metal Closures makes a range of aluminium closures from a plant in Paarden Eiland,Cape Town.

The €20 million purchase and has been approved by the South African Competition Commission.

Guala Closures is an Italian multinational company, and claims to be the world’s leading manufacturer of anti-refillable and aluminium closures for spirits, wines, beverages and olive oil.

With approximately 3,800 employees and 24 manufacturing plants worldwide, the company is the number one in its sector with sales in more than 100 countries. In 2011,Guala recorded a turnover of €410 million.
