Treasury appoints MD for EMEA and GTR

20 January, 2012

Andrew Carter has been appointed managing director of Treasury Wine Estates’  Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA), and Global Travel Retail divisions.

In a career spanning 20 years, Carter has experience of international leadership, sales, global marketing and product innovation roles – most recently as managing director of Bacardi Global Travel Retail.

Formerly, Carter also held the postion of global category director for Bombay Sapphire gin.

Carter said: “I am immensely proud of everything I have achieved in my time at Bacardi particularly over the last three years, where I’ve lead a brilliant team in transforming the company’s travel retail business.

“Whilst difficult to leave such a great company, the opportunity to join the new leadership team at Treasury Wine Estates and to lead the growth of such a prestigious portfolio of wine brands across the EMEA region and to realise their exciting potential in travel retail, was too good an opportunity to resist.”

Carter is currently a member of the Tax Free World Association Management Committee, the world’s biggest duty free and travel retail association, based in Paris.
