The family-owned spirits producer and marketer Heaven Hill Distilleries has launched its Parker's Heritage Collection with the introduction of a cask-strength 1996 Kentucky Straight Bourbon - the first edition in a limited annual series of rare, aged American whiskies.
The bourbon has been drawn from a lot of 68 selected barrels, which were 'dumped', from the barrels into a holding vessel, in three very small batches of 22, 22, and 24 barrels each - and is the first barrel strength the distillery has produced.
"The barrels I have selected for this special series represent some of the most diverse whiskies I have produced in my 45 years as a master distiller," says 6th-generation family head, Parker Beam.
Packaging consultancy Saxco International created the distinctive look for the collection. The flint bottle, manufactured by Saint-Gobain, is screen-printed with the Parker's Heritage logo and topped with an embossed black-top cork stopper with printed capsule.
